The telephoto DigiZoom 17-112mm T1.9 joins the popular DigiPrime and DigiZoom 6-24mm T1.9 rounding out Zeiss' offerings of the highest quality prime and zoom optics specifically designed for today's high definition cameras.

This new Zeiss zoom is amazingly compact (318mm long, 95mm outside diameter) and lightweight (7.8 lbs, 3.55 kg) for a long range and high performance lens.

The 17-112mm shares design innovations used in the popular DigiPrime series. Industry standard- pitch zoom, focus and iris gears, and brightly marked oversized windowed cine scales are employed for ease of use and optimal compatibility with cine lens accessories. Individually calibrated focus scales provide pinpoint accuracy.

The Carl Zeiss back-focus mechanism provides highly accurate calibration across the focusing range. The Zeiss internal focus design ensures top performance, center to corner throughout the entire focus and zoom range. It facilitates a consistent center of gravity, minimum balance shift, and no breathing.

The new 6.5X zoom focuses to 30" from the image plane (just 17.5" inches from the front of the lens). Plus, it has the ability to focus tightly on small objects, bringing them fully into frame in precise focus. Like the rest of the Zeiss DigiPrime and DigiZoom family, the 17-112mm has been engineered for optimum performance in low light situations with the aperture fully open. The design produces unsurpassed contrast control by minimizing flare, veiling glare, and internal reflections well below other zoom lenses. It offers superior relative illumination and high resolution over the entire screen edge-to-edge, throughout the focal range.

Zeiss engineers have designed the new 6.5X zoom to accurately color match and seamlessly intercut images made with the DigiZoom 6-24mm T1.9 as well as the Digi-Prime family.

Would you like to increase the focal length of the Zeiss 17mm-112mm T1.9 DigiZoom? By using the Fujinon HAeE14-1 extender, the Digi-Zoom can become 23.8 - 156.8mm (or 60 - 390mm in Super 35mm terms) at the cost of .75 stop. The HAeE14-1 is made to exacting optical specifications commensurate with the marquee HAe series Fujinon Cine lenses.
