No matter how carefully you store them, every second your video tapes spend on a shelf they're deteriorating. Our archiving services preserve the integrity of your original video while giving you near-instant access to every frame. Chelsea Post is able to offer a highly specialized and scalable service, whereby existing footage is digitized and converted to a broadcast-quality, MPEG-2 format that can be used with virtually any equipment. Once they're digitized, clips are also annotated with metadata, using either a manual or automatic process. As part of the metadata creation process, we can also create a "proxy," or lower-resolution version of your original audio and video content that you can browse from virtually anywhere, anytime, even a computer screen thousands of miles away.
We offer storage on either infinitely scalable hard drives or on Sony AIT-3 magnetic data tape, which we've paired with a robotic tape retrieval system tasked to a buffered hard drive to facilitate fast access.
