Monoscopic (normal, 2D) High Definition is available at 1920x1080
resolution at up to 60P (progressive frames) per second with standard
422 color sampling.
The Epic 3D truck is uniquely capable of monoscopic 3G HD recording
with the
improved color recording of 444 color sampling at 23.98p, 24p, 29.97p,
50i and 60i frame rates. In a standard high
definition 422 recording half of the color information seen is
discarded before
recording. 444 color sampling facilitates the recording of the
color information which would otherwise be eliminated. This HDCAM
SR 444 recording facilitates a more accurate color recording with
subtle color pallette changes that standard 422 HD cannot duplicate.
